When can I hire a marquee?

The marquee season operates from April to September. We still hire furniture, dance floors and other accessories all year round!

How far do you travel?

Devon Party Marquees is based in South Devon between the market towns of Totnes and Newton Abbot. Over the years our service and reputation has grown and we now operate throughout the South West covering Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and Somerset.

On what surface can a marquee be installed?

These marquees are meant to go on grass and it should be flat and level. We can sometimes go on hard surfaces but you do need to let us know what type of surface it is.

Do you charge VAT?

Yes we do, our VAT Registration Number is GB217112255.

Is there a delivery charge?

Yes, delivery considers fuel, weight of items, access and crew wages in transit.

The marquees and equipment are hired for 1 day. Does that mean they have to be installed and taken down in the same day?

No, we will deliver 1-3 days before the hire date and collect 1-3 days after. These timings may change due to the weather and other events out of our control.

My event is longer than 1 day, are there additional hire charges?

Yes – our standard hire rates (as listed) are for one day. If you would like to hire any equipment for longer, such as festivals or county shows, there is a daily charge of 15%.

 

For example one extra day is 15%, two extra days is 30% and so on. The extra hire charges do not include delivery / collection days, only the number of days you would like to use the equipment for.

Do the marquees come with walls?

Yes, we provide a set of window and solid walls for each type of marquee.

Payment

Payment can be made by bank transfer, cash, debit or credit card only.

Our Booking Process

Enquiry

To get things started we will send you our e-brochure on the style of marquee that you are interested in, along with layout examples, accessory options and a guide on pricing.

Site Visit

Once you are ready, give us a call to arrange a site visit. We will meet with you to assess the site, measure and chat through all the marquee options. Following this meeting, we will send you a full estimate on the options discussed.

Booking your Marquee

Once you are happy to proceed we will send a contract and booking form, itemising everything for your event. A 40% deposit secures the order. On receipt of payment your booking is then fully confirmed!

Final Payments

Final payment is made no later than 14 days prior to the hire date.

Delivery & Collection

For most orders we will deliver 1 to 3 days before the hire date, and collect 1 to 3 days after. Due to the weather and other bookings we can not provide a specific delivery and collection day until 5 days before the hire date.

Is there a labour charge?

No. Installation and dismantling of the marquee(s) and equipment is included.

Insurance (loss or damage)

You are covered by the Company, there will be no additional cost or surcharge added to your booking form, however there are two conditions:

 

1. Client is responsible for the first £500 (per claim) of any accidental loss or damage to Equipment or Third Party Equipment. This excludes any portable or road towed generator(s) which are brought into your event by a Third Party Supplier. Standard excess for generator(s) will be £2500 which the client will be liable for. This is due to all insurance companies including generators as a high risk item.

 

2. Client is responsible for ALL loss or damage resulting from their or their guests wilful neglect or legal liability, this includes failure to implement sufficient security measures. Any loss or damage will be charged on a reinstatement with new basis, and the Client will indemnify the Company against any future loss of income until the Equpiment has been replaced. We cannot accept any items in place of our own.

 

For peace of mind we strongly recomend that you purchase your own event insurance.
