About

The Capri Marquee offers an elegant alternative to the more traditional or clear span style of marquee. Its tension design eliminates the use of ropes and guy lines and creates a clean and sleek appearance – evocative of Erasmus Bridge or the Sydney Opera House. All our marquees come with detachable walls. As well as its distinctive appearance the marquee's modular design allows for more than one to be joined together. Hire one for a garden party or create a combination for a wedding reception the choice is endless. You will see on our gallery a selection of various marquee structures and floor plans can be found in the resources section.

New for 2013

We are very excited to be expanding our range of marquees and flooring. This year we will be introducing 3 new types of marquee and a hard floor system.

The Poleadion will be our largest marquee. Measuring 60x60ft, the marquee will comfortably hold 160-200 seated, plus extra space for a dance floor and bar. Its superior quality in both design and strength will shield your event from nearly all but the worst of the Britsh weather.
The Matrix is a small marquee and has been included primarily to support the Poleadion. 20x20ft in size the Matrix can connect directly to the Poleadion, the perfect solution for a catering tent and also entrance porch. It also has other uses elsewhere, and we expect it to be popping up at county shows and festivals near you.
The Trapeze is an exciting new product as it looks almost identical to the Capri. It is slightly bigger at 30x40ft and stonger. The familar curved arches remain, and with improved connecting gutters and walls, we know that this will be a big hit.
The Hard Floor System available in the Poleadion and Matrix. The system of interlocking plastic tiles raises the floor by 34mm. On top of the floor we can lay a range of coloured carpets, thus creating a luxurious and solid floor to walk on. The other advantages for this floor become apparent in wet weather!

The Team

Devon Party Marquees was started in 2004 by Adrian Rodgers. Having cut his teeth at marquee companies in Kent and Bristol – and fallen for the design and versatility of the Capri marquee in particular – Adrian started his own company on moving to Devon.

2013 Offer: 2 for 1 on the 30x40ft Trapeze Marquee

To celebrate our new range of Trapeze marquees we have this very special offer. It is only available with the larger 30x40ft Trapeze. The venue must be within 15 miles of TQ12 5UQ and below are the selected dates:

June 8,22 July 20, August 17,24 and September 7 (2013 Season Only)

To take advantage of this great offer you must hire the matting and lighting (par38 up lighters and fairy lights) that go in each marquee plus a 16x16ft Wooden Dance Floor. On top of this we do have furniture and other accessories for hire.

Maximum of two marquees per order - If you wish to hire more marquees you can but they will not qualify for the offer! This offer is subject to availability.

Minimum Hire Example: 2x 30x40ft Trapeze Marquees £450 (normal hire rate £900) matting £300, Par38 Up Lighters £180, Fairy Lights £100 and 16x16ft Wooden Dance Floor £175 - Total £1,205 no VAT.

Labour and Delivery is included in the price. Installation of the marquee will be 1-3 days before the hire date and collection will be 1-2 days after.

FAQs

Q: When can I hire a marquee?
A: The marquee season is between the months April to September. We still hire furniture all year round!

Q: On what surface can a marquee be installed?
A: These marquees are meant to go on grass and it should be flat and level. We can sometimes go on hard surfaces but you do need to let us know what type of surface it is.

Q: The marquees are hired out for a 24hr period - does that mean they have to be installed and taken down in the same day?
A: No we normally deliver 1-3 days before the hire period, and collect 1-2 days after. We can not provide a specific delivery date and time until 7 days before the hire date.

Q: Do the marquees come with walls?
A: Yes. They can easily be attached or removed when desired. You will be shown how to do this.

Q: Payment
A: A non refundable deposit of 25% is needed to confirm the booking. The final balance is payable 10 working days before date of hire. If the total amount is under £400 the full balance is payable on booking.

Q: Is there a VAT charge?
A: No.

Q: Is there a delivery charge?
A: Excluding the hard floor delivery is FREE on all other items within 20 miles of our postcode TQ12 5UQ. If the venue is further we will provide a delivery charge based on your order, number of vehicles used and travelling time.

Q: Is there a labour charge?
A: No. Installation and dismantling of the marquee(s) and equipment is included.

Q: The 28x38ft Capri and 30x40ft Trapeze marquees look almost identical. I realise the Trapeze is slightly bigger but what are the other differences?
A: The marquees are made by different companies and the Trapeze is a better design both in Strength and Function. It is stronger in high winds and has been improved in the way you join one to another. The Trapeze has a Keder wall system which means the wall slides into the arch, making it almost draft free. The Capri wall system works by clipping to the arch, which leaves gaps and does allow drafts in.

Q: Do you offer a Free site visit?
A: Yes but with increasing fuel costs it has become uneconomical to offer a free site visit to all enquiries. We can still offer 1 Free site visit to any enquiry within 20 miles of TQ12 5UQ. If it is further away a free site visit is still available but only for enquiries with two or more marquees. If your enquiry is for one marquee only and the venue is between 20-30 miles a minimum fuel charge of £25 will apply - After 30 miles the fuel charge will be £1 per mile one way. If the site visit is successful and you do book any fuel charges will be deducted from your final invoice.
