Devon Party Marquees was born with the idea that a marquee should be stylish to look at and affordable to hire. With this in mind we found an alternative and funky style of marquee called the Capri. Requiring far less manpower to install and break down, the Capri marquee quickly became an affordable hire solution.

The Capri offered an elegant alternative to the more traditional or clear span style of marquee. The structure displayed curved arches with walls and high peaked roofs, something that was not commonplace in the marquee landscape. Its tension design eliminated the need for guy lines and created a clean and sleek appearance – evocative of Erasmus Bridge or the Sydney Opera House.

As well as its distinctive appearance the marquee's modular design allowed for more than one to be joined together. Hire one for a garden party or create a combination for a wedding reception the choice is endless.

Since our formation we have expanded and now offer three styles of marquee:

  • The Trapeze has replaced our original Capri marquee. They do look very similar but the Trapeze is a specialist marquee with an improved tension deisgn, stronger anchor points, heavier grade material and drip-free connecting joiners and walls. The Trapeze offers far greater protection against the elements and can withstand much stronger winds, something that the Capri struggles with. We have both sizes available, they are 30x40ft and 20x30ft. Each marquee comes with a set of solid white and window walls. The design of the Trapeze takes much longer to install than a Capri marquee. This does mean the hire cost is more because you are getting a better structure that needs more time to prepare. Please remember this when comparing quotes against other companies who supply the Capri marquee.
  • The Poleadion is our flagship marquee. Measuring 60x60ft or 60x80ft, the marquee will comfortably hold between 150-250 seated, plus space for a dance floor and bar. Its superior quality in both design and strength will shield your event from nearly all but the worst of the British weather. With the addition of the 20x20ft Matrix marquee (M20) we can create further space by adding an entrance porch, bar or catering tent.
  • The Matrix is our only clear span marquee. Available in two sizes, the Matrix combines traditional tent design with modern innovation, creating an architecturally impressive, yet fully functional, structure system. Because of it’s versatility, the Matrix is an ideal choice for a wide range of event applications. From entrance porches, to catering tents, market stalls or eye-catching hospitality, this type of marquee will impress whatever the event.

As well as our standard Dandy Dura matting we now offer a hard plastic interlocking floor with or without carpet, this is compatible with our Poleadion and Matrix range.

Devon Party Marquees not only covers Devon, we now operate throughout the West Country, which includes marquee hire in Cornwall and Somerset. Our marquees are used for a variety of events including weddings, parties, festivals, county shows and corporate days. We can also supply dance floors, furniture, lighting options and a number of accessories from catering tents to rattan furniture, bars and even a sound system.

This offer is available to all new enquiries that book between 1 August 2014 and 1 January 2015.

The catering tent is a 20x20ft Matrix Marquee and will include flooring and a light.

  • Minimum order value £2,500.
  • Excludes any delivery charges or other items outsourced for your event.

Poleadion Marquee 150 seated £4,200 (save £652.50)

This package is a popular setup for the 60x60ft Poleadion marquee. It includes an entrance and catering tent plus flooring and lighting throughout. For the furniture we are providing the white bistro chair, however you are welcome to change the style of chair but this will be subject to an additional cost on top of the package price. There is a large 20x24ft wooden dance floor and two rattan furniture sets. We have included useful extras in the package from a marquee heater to a wooden easel. Normal hire for this package is £4,852.50.

A free site visit is available and we do not charge VAT.

When checking the site, the best way is to measure is a rectangle space of 110x90ft (33x27m), this will allow for guide ropes. It should be flat and level with direct access for our vechicles.

Within 20 miles a minimum delivery charge of £175 will apply (Within 10 miles delivery is free). After 20 miles a bespoke delivery cost will be calculated on travelling time, wages and fuel.

Please note I do offer free delivery within 20 miles but this is for 1 trip using 2 vehicles. This size marquee will take at least 3 trips to deliver hence the minimum delivery charge of £175.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

FAQs

Q: When can I hire a marquee?
A: The marquee season operates between April to September. We still hire furniture, dance floors and other accessories all year round!

Q: On what surface can a marquee be installed?
A: These marquees are meant to go on grass and it should be flat and level. We can sometimes go on hard surfaces but you do need to let us know what type of surface it is.

Q: The marquees are hired out for a 24hr period - does that mean they have to be installed and taken down in the same day?
A: No we normally deliver 1-3 days before the hire period, and collect 1-2 days after. We can not provide a specific delivery date and time until 7 days before the hire date.

Q: Do the marquees come with walls?
A: Yes, we provide a set of window and solid walls for each type of marquee.

Q: Payment
A: A non-refundable deposit of a designated sum (normally 25%) to confirm the booking, the balance payable 60 days before the hire date. If the value of the order is under 400 GBP the total amount will be payable on booking, regardless of how far in advance the order was made.

Q: Do you charge VAT?
A: All prices shown include VAT where applicable.

Q: Is there a delivery charge?
A: Delivery is FREE for one trip using a maximum of 2 vehicles within 20 miles of our postcode TQ12 5UQ. If the booking requires multiple trips or If the venue is further than 20 miles we will provide a delivery cost based on your order, number of vehicles used and travelling time.

Q: Is there a labour charge?
A: No. Installation and dismantling of the marquee(s) and equipment is included.

Q: Do you offer a Free site visit?
A: Yes but with increasing fuel costs it has become uneconomical to offer a free site visit to all enquiries. We can still offer 1 Free site visit to any enquiry within 20 miles of TQ12 5UQ. If it is further away a free site visit is still available but only for enquiries with two or more marquees. If your enquiry is for one marquee only and the venue is between 20-30 miles a minimum fuel charge of 25 GBP will apply - After 30 miles the fuel charge will be 1 GBP per mile one way. If the site visit is successful and you do book any fuel charges will be deducted from your final invoice.

Q: Do I need to insure the marquee?
A: Yes you do. We ask that the hirer agrees to take out appropriate insurance for our equipment during the period of hire. This must include insurance against cancellation, damage or loss. We will provide a total sum of all equipment whilst on hire for your insurers.
